Maldonado keen to bounce back in Singapore

Pastor Maldonado is confident that Williams can perform at a higher level in Singapore, with the Grove-based squad picking up just a solitary point at Monza. The Venezuelan believes that the circuit's high downforce nature will suit the FW34, with memories of victory at the Circuit de Catalunya etched firmly in his mind.

"This is my second time at Singapore which is a great city with a great atmosphere," Maldonado said ahead of the Grand Prix. "The race is unique because it takes place at night and you have to adapt to the temperature change and of course the time difference because we stay on European time all week.

"The track requires high downforce which is good for us and it’s similar to Barcelona in terms of aerodynamics so this should be a track where we can show the potential of our car."

Maldonado is yet to pick up a point since his emphatic win in Barcelona. Throughout the same period, team-mate Bruno Senna has secured five top ten finishes.
