Michael Schumacher has signed up for this year’s Race of Champions, in which he will again join forces with Sebastian Vettel in a bid to retain the Nations Cup title for Team Germany. For the first time, this year’s event will be staged in Bangkok, Thailand.
“I have never raced in Thailand before, so this will be an interesting addition to my motorsport travels,” the Mercedes driver says on Tuesday.
“Of course it means Team Germany won’t have the home advantage of the past two years, but Seb and I managed okay in London and Beijing so we hope it won’t stop us from keeping up our run!”
“It’s great news that Michael will be joining us again in Bangkok,” adds Race Organiser Fredrik Johnsson. “He is the most successful F1 driver of all time and we have been delighted to see him back on the podium in 2012.”
The 2012 Race of Champions will be staged on the weekend of 15-16 December.
