Jenson Button believes Red Bull will be back up to speed as Formula 1 heads to Singapore this weekend. The Renault-powered cars of Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber struggled on the long straights of Spa and Monza, but the Marina Bay street circuit is notoriously twisty.
“There's no reason why we shouldn't be competitive here - we'll obviously be disappointed if we're not,” the 2009 World Champion told Sky Sports News.
“The last three races have been good for us. I think that Red Bull haven't been as quick as we expected over the last two, but they'll be back here competitive again I think - and Ferrari.
“But we've been competitive in qualifying and the races over the last few races and that's really been key to winning the Grands Prix. Saturday has been more important than we expected this year.”
After returning to winning ways in Belgium, Button retired last time out at the Italian Grand Prix when his second-placed McLaren suffered a fuel pick-up problem.
