2012 Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix: Saturday qualifying results

Charles Pic has been handed a double punishment after overtaking under red flags at the end of Saturday’s final practice session in Singapore.

The stoppage came when Vitaly Petrov crashed his Caterham and had to park the stranded car in the pit lane entrance. Having passed a rival on his way back to the pits, Pic was immediately placed under investigation by F1 governing body the FIA.

Not only will 20 seconds be added to the Marussia driver’s race time on Sunday, but – at the instruction of FIA President Jean Todt – he will be forced to attend one day of Community Service for an FIA Road Safety campaign, along with his Race Engineer.
