Vitantonio Liuzzi has confirmed that he will compete in this year’s V8 Supercars race at Surfers Paradise, completing the line-up for guest drivers. As in 2011, the former Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Force India and HRT F1 driver will join forces with Tony D’Alberto.
“I'm happy to be back in the series that keeps growing and is ultra-competitive,” says the Italian. “V8 Supercars is always a dream category because I really enjoyed last year and performance and speed were good, so I hope to become even stronger this year. I see that the team and Tony are having a stronger championship than last year, so I hope we can aim for a big result.”
Liuzzi officially remains part of HRT, but was dropped from the race line-up by the reshuffled team ahead of the current season.
