Caterham confirms van der Garde practice drive

Caterham has confirmed via Twitter that GP2 driver Giedo van der Garde will be back in the cockpit for this Friday’s opening practice period ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix, as GPUpdate.net revealed in August.

In the 90-minute FP1 session of Friday, the Dutch GP2 pilot will replace Heikki Kovalainen before handing the car back over to the Finn for the afternoon.

Suzuka will mark his second Friday outing of the year, after Shanghai, and he will also drive in first practice for the Korean, Indian, Abu Dhabi and Brazilian races.
