Just as they did with Nico Rosberg for Singapore last year, Alpinestars are giving fans a chance to design the racing boots of Nico Hülkenberg for next month’s United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. A template can now be downloaded online and the competition closes on Thursday 1 November.
The boot in question is an Alpinestars Tech 1-T model, constructed from full grain leather and containing all of the Formula 1-standard Nomex lining. Remarkably, each boot weighs just 300 grams. When coming up with a design, fans are encouraged to create something to ‘express the special multicultural mix that makes Sahara Force India a unique presence on the Formula 1 grid’.
The winning design will be chosen by Hülkenberg, who will wear the boots at Circuit of the Americas and present a signed pair to the competition winner.
