Pic keen to learn Korean circuit

10 October 2012

Charles Pic’s debut Formula 1 season now heads into its final quarter, starting with a brand-new circuit for the Frenchman in Korea this weekend. So far this year, the Marussia driver’s best finishing position is 15th in Valencia.

“Japan ended in a disappointing way for me,” he begins on Wednesday. “With only a week between the two races, I have put that behind me and reset my mind to the Korean weekend. I’ve had a few days in Tokyo to do some training and prepare for another new circuit and I’m feeling good for the race ahead.

“From what I have seen of the track in simulation, it looks very interesting - especially Sectors 1 and 3. It is also another anti-clockwise circuit, which always adds an extra dimension in terms of the physical challenge.

“Most important now is keeping our focus and delivering our usual two-car finishes so, as always, I will be playing my part in the team’s objectives as well as I can.”

Since Timo Glock finished 12th in Singapore, Marussia has been officially classified as tenth position in the Constructors’ Championship, ahead of Caterham and HRT. In both 2010 and 2011, the team finished at the bottom of the order.
