Donnelly confirmed as steward for Korea

10 October 2012

Martin Donnelly is the driver representative steward for the upcoming Korean Grand Prix at Yeongam. The Northern Irishman started in 13 Formula 1 races between the end of 1989 and the 1990 season.

Donnelly debuted in F1 at the 1989 French Grand Prix with Arrows, although he is arguably best remembered for the near-fatal accident with Lotus at Jerez the following year. The incident, which left Donnelly lying on the circuit, is widely known to have had a profound effect on then one-time World Champion Ayrton Senna.

This weekend will mark the third time Donnelly has served as F1 steward, having also taken up the role in Korea last year and Canada earlier this season.
