Maldonado: I really want to stay at Williams
11 October 2012 – Despite a host of rumours which have linked Pastor Maldonado to another team for 2013, the Venezuelan has expressed his desire to stay at the Grove-based outfit next year. The Spanish Grand Prix winner is upbeat over the progress that has been made this season and explains that there is 'good confidence' throughout the squad.
"To be honest I really want to stay with Williams," said Maldonado. "It's a good team and the team is getting better and better every day. We’ve been rebuilding everything in the team and I think now it’s more compact and the car is looking, as I mentioned before, every day better and better.
"So good confidence with them but at the moment there is not confirmation. So looking forward to seeing that but otherwise looking forward to remaining in Formula 1for sure."
Heading to Korea, Maldonado lies 15th in the championship standings with 33 points.
