Arrest warrant issued for Vijay Mallya

The Indian city of Hyderabad has issued an arrest warrant for Force India team boss Vijay Mallya, with his Kingfisher Airlines company allegedly owing the area's main airport a sum in the region of 2 million dollars (1.2 million pounds).

The funds, relating to bounced cheques which the company issued for routine services at the airport, have created the latest headache in a string of financial issues for Mallya. If he is taken into custody by police, he will not be able to apply for bail.
