Hamilton: I’m going all-out for the win
13 October 2012 – Lewis Hamilton claims he will be taking no prisoners off the line as he starts third in Korea. The McLaren driver, who in 2011 registered the only non-Red Bull pole of the season, will be best of the rest behind Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel.
“It’s been quite a tough weekend, in terms of getting a fast lap time out of the car, so third on the grid is very satisfying,” reported the 2008 World Champion.
“In Q3 I’ll happily admit that I ragged the life out of the car and got everything from it, yet Mark and Seb both claim they had a little bit left over - we’ll see. Anyway, Jenson (Button) showed yesterday that our long-run pace is promising, so I’m really looking forward to the race tomorrow.
“Beating the Red Bulls will be about making a good getaway, making all the right strategy calls and not making any mistakes. There’ll be good opportunity for slipstreaming into the first few corners at the start too. I’ll be going all-out for the win.”
Hamilton could find himself in an ideal place to pass on the long straight to Turn 3, which from the third lap of the race will also be the DRS zone.
