Fernando Alonso claims third and fourth positions were the very best Ferrari could have hoped for at Yeongam, with Red Bull having celebrated a dominant one-two finish in Sunday’s Korean Grand Prix. As the erstwhile championship leader stresses, Ferrari must now push extra hard to improve its car.
“Definitely,” Alonso said when asked if more to is to come from Ferrari, as a package of upgrades is planned for the Indian Grand Prix in a fortnight’s time.
“We have to be happy with the performance today. Red Bull are currently too quick to beat but it was a good day for me, Felipe and the team and we’ve overtaken McLaren for second place in the Constructors’ Championship, which we didn’t expect a few races ago. Now we need to improve to get on top of Red bull at the last few races.”
With four races to go, Alonso now lies six points in arrears of Vettel.
