Wolff completes first F1 laps with Williams

17 October 2012

Susie Wolff drove a Formula 1 car for the first time on Wednesday, lapping the Silverstone Circuit at the wheel of a year-old Williams FW33. The 29-year-old, who is the team's development driver, took to the circuit during a designated Partner Day.

Wolff is currently competing in her seventh DTM campaign, with just the Hockenheim finale left to run this weekend. After joining Williams in April of this year, she has been conducting various simulator and media work for the Grove-based squad.

Pastor Maldonado and Bruno Senna were also in action, driving historic cars. Maldonado took to the track in Damon Hill's title-winning FW18 of 1996, while Senna sampled Keke Rosberg's FW08, the winner of the 1982 Swiss Grand Prix. On Thursday, Formula 2 Champion Luciano Bacheta will get his prize outing in the FW34.
