The Ferrari cars of Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa are sporting Italian naval flags for the upcoming Indian Grand Prix weekend.
The flags are located on the front of the monocoque and play tribute to a pair of Italian sailors who are currently under arrest by Indian police, who claim that the sailors killed two fishermen in the Arabian Gulf on 18 February.
‘Ferrari pays tribute to one of the outstanding entities of our country, also in the hope that the Indian and Italian authorities will soon find a solution to the situation currently involving two sailors from the Italian Navy,’ reads a Ferrari statement.
Italy has asked for the two sailors to be released, but so far to no avail.
