FIA confirms two DRS zones for India

25 October 2012
2012 Indian Formula 1 Grand Prix

Formula 1 governing body the FIA has confirmed that it will keep a pair of DRS zones for this weekend’s second Grand Prix of India.

The first will come on the start/finish straight, with the necessary one-second margin between cars being measured after the final corner. DRS can then be redeployed on the long back straight which heads towards Turn 4; on that occasion, the detection beam is placed on the uphill entry to the third corner.

In a further bid to aid overtake after a somewhat processional inaugural race last year, the second of the two DRS zones has been extended by 80 metres.
