Fernando Alonso says he will 'never give up' on his quest to overhaul title rival Sebastian Vettel for a third Drivers' crown, with the Ferrari driver slipping further back after the latter's Indian Grand Prix victory. With three races remaining and a potential 75 points on offer, the Spaniard is determined to end the year atop the standings.
"No," Alonso plainly replied when asked if he will ever give in to Red Bull and Vettel's relentless pace. "Obviously it's not easy at the moment to fight with Red Bull but we'll never give up. We're happy with the result today and we have to congratulate them, well done Red Bull and well done Sebastian.
"We want to be happy and we want to enjoy Brazil, I'm sure we'll do it. We lost points but this was more or less the plan this wekened, we were not fast enough to compete with them this weekend. This is the least amount of points we could lose. Better races will come."
If current leader Vettel or second place man Alonso claim overall honours at the end of the season, they will equal late Ayrton Senna's total of three world titles.
