Rosberg hopes to end points drought
30 October 2012 – Nico Rosberg is hoping that he and Mercedes can make a return to the points in Abu Dhabi, with the Brackley-based squad having failed to record a top ten finish in the last three Grand Prix weekends. Now sitting just 20 points ahead of Sauber, the team is under threat of losing fifth place in the Constructors' championship battle.
"On the track, tyre work will again be crucial this weekend. We are working hard on it and our goals this weekend will be to score some points and to learn for next year."
Heading to the Yas Marina Circuit, Rosberg is facing a battle of his own in the Drivers' standings. The German, currently occupying seventh, holds a slender three point advantage over Romain Grosjean, with Ferrari's Felipe Massa a further point adrift.
