Three curfew exceptions remain for Ferrari

Three curfew exceptions remain for Ferrari

2 November 2012
2012 Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix: Friday

On Friday morning in Abu Dhabi, Ferrari broke the curfew for the first time in 2012. Members of the team arrived at Yas Marina by 9am at the latest, as they introduced a number of upgrades such as a new front wing for Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa.

Teams are permitted four breakages of the curfew per season, so it is more than likely that Ferrari will be entering circuits early in both America and Brazil as well.

‘Last night team personnel of the Ferrari team, who are associated with the operation of the car, were within the confines of the circuit during the six-hour period which commenced at 04:00 on 02 November, nine hours before the scheduled start time of P1 and ends three hours before the scheduled start time of P1 at 10:00 on 02 November,’ explains a report from FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer.

‘This was the first of the four individual exceptions permitted for the Ferrari team during the 2012 Formula One Championship season and therefore no action should be taken.’

Running the new front wing, Alonso finished first practice in fourth position.
