Although he set the fastest lap time in Abu Dhabi practice on Friday, Sebastian Vettel still believes McLaren are the team to beat this weekend. In the opening phase earlier in the day, Lewis Hamilton had led Jenson Button in a one-two finish.
“I think we can be happy with today,” the World Champion began. “Overall, we got a good lap on the Soft tyres, but in general pace the McLarens were quick and seem competitive, so they’re the ones we need to look out for and beat. We need to improve the car overnight to qualify as high as we can tomorrow.”
Winner of the first two Abu Dhabi races in 2009 and 2010, Vettel remains unbeatable when it comes to qualifying, having sealed three pole positions out of three.
