Two exceptions left following Ferrari curfew error

Two exceptions left following Ferrari curfew error

3 November 2012
2012 Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix: Saturday

Ferrari has been let off by F1 governing body the FIA, having now broken the curfew for the second time. However, on Saturday morning, the reason was because one mechanic – who could not sleep – accidently entered the paddock 20 minutes early.

‘Having received a report from the FIA F1 Technical Delegate concerning the Ferrari team having used a second individual exception under Art 30.19 F1 Sporting regulations, the Stewards decided to investigate the case,’ explains a report from the stewards, one of which this weekend is former Formula 1 driver Derek Warwick.

‘Having heard the Team representative, the Stewards note that the Ferrari team now have used two of their four exceptions under the above Regulations. As a result the Stewards decide no further action is necessary.’

Two of Ferrari’s four curfew exceptions remain for 2012, which are more than likely to be used at the remaining two events in Austin, Texas and São Paulo, Brazil.
