Red Bull tester Antonio Félix da Costa topped the timesheets as the Young Driver test resumed in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday. The Portuguese driver, whose quickest lap time was clocked at 1:42.679, completed 62 tours of the Yas Marina Circuit, while Oliver Turvey and Edoardo Mortara rounded out the top three.
Perfect testing conditions welcomed the field of seven drivers this morning, with four teams opting to change their line-ups in some shape or form. Tuesday's pace-setter Kevin Magnussen had a day off as Turvey and Gary Paffett gathered data for McLaren, while 2012 GP2 rivals Esteban Gutiérrez and Johnny Cecotto Jr. made their first appearances of the week.
Gutiérrez was fourth fastest for Sauber, the same position achieved by newly-crowned Formula Renault 3.5 Champion Robin Frijns on Tuesday. The Mexican completed the most mileage of the day with a total of 94 laps (522,076 km) to his name, having recently made a Friday practice appearance during the Indian Grand Prix weekend.
McLaren's Paffett and Toro Rosso's Johnny Cecotto Jr. finished their days in fifth and sixth respectively, while Giedo van der Garde wound up seventh for Caterham.
Yas Marina testing continues on Thursday at 9am local time (GMT +4)
