Lotus will promote the new Angry Birds Star Wars game at the United States Grand Prix next weekend, teaming up with Rovio and Lucasfilm in a deal which will see the new release advertised on the cars of Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean.
The title, which was released to the public on Wednesday, is a joint production between Angry Birds programmers Rovio and the creators of Star Wars. The deal follows on from the special logos placed on both Lotus cars at this year's Monaco Grand Prix.
"As a team, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of our approach to entertainment and promoting our aim to be a little different," explained Patrick Louis, CEO of the Lotus F1 Team.
"By promoting the new Angry Birds Star Wars game at the upcoming United States Grand Prix, we have the potential to connect fans between Lotus F1 Team, Rovio and Lucasfilm. After our victory at the recent Abu Dhabi Grand Prix we certainly think that the Force is with us."
From November 12-19, the Enstone-based team will be running a Facebook-only tournament, allowing players to compete for the chance to win prizes such as a signed replica of Räikkönen's helmet and a test drive in the team's simulator.
