Räikkönen: There is more to come from us
10 November 2012 – Kimi Räikkönen has sent out a clear message to his rivals ahead of the returning United States Grand Prix, with the Finn claiming that 'there is more to come' following his victory in Abu Dhabi. The 2007 Champion is now a comfortable third in the Drivers' standings and is delighted to be continuing with the team in 2013.
"It’s a pretty good way to show that everyone’s made the right choice," Räikkönen said of his recent triumph. "We’ve shown all season how good we can be, and in Abu Dhabi we showed we can win. There is more to come. I promise."
Looking ahead to next weekend's penultimate round, Räikkönen is excited about learning another new circuit and competing in front of fans that 'love racing'.
"It will be the third new circuit for me this year and most of all, a brand new place for every team and every driver as well. Korea and India were both new to me, but I had seen the previous races on the television. I don’t know anything about Austin, just the name Circuit of the Americas.
"I have always liked to go to new places as it adds a bit of additional excitement. I’m particularly looking forward to this one. I like the American atmosphere, it’s just a relaxed environment; they know how to have fun and, most of all, they love racing."
Although Räikkönen can no longer claim the title, Lotus sits just 30 points behind third-placed McLaren in the Constructors' standings, with 86 remaining this season.
