New sponsor to back Sauber and Chelsea

New sponsor to back Sauber and Chelsea

13 November 2012

A common sponsor will soon be announced to partner both the Sauber F1 Team and Chelsea Football Club, it has been announced by the latter. The new backer will help promote the global brands of both parties, which joined forces back in April.

Having announced the sponsorship deal at the Spanish Grand Prix following a series of subliminal messages on the Sauber cars at previous races, Chelsea Chief Executive Ron Gourlay has now said that another announcement is imminent.

“The first commercial joint venture will be announced in two months' time,' Gourlay is quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.

“You are going to see some results of the partnership very soon. We both want to be winners in our field and have the same values. Through our relationship with Sauber, we can go into 19 different markets in one season.”

The Sauber-Chelsea link-up is already the first time a Formula 1 team and Premier League football club have commercially joined forces.
