Daimler takes full control of Mercedes team

German car manufacturer Daimler has now claimed complete control of the Mercedes Formula 1 team after successfully purchasing a stake owned by Aabar.

Aabar Investments, a private joint stock company from Abu Dhabi, recently sold its 40 percent share in the Brackley-based outfit to Daimler for an undisclosed fee.

Daimler and Aabar entered the sport after Brawn GP claimed Constructors' honours in 2009. Both companies were part of the Mercedes rebranding which followed.
