We will miss McLaren, says Anthony Hamilton
20 November 2012 – Anthony Hamilton, notwithstanding his confidence in son Lewis’ defection to Mercedes for the 2013 Formula 1 season, is sure the family will miss McLaren. Yet to race with any other team in the sport, Hamilton Jr. has been part of the race squad since 2007 but was signed up by the Woking outfit a decade earlier.
“I think the last race in Brazil is going to be a really emotional send-off for us all – team, driver and family,” Anthony told Sky Sports while celebrating victory in Texas on Sunday. “The Hamiltons are synonymous with McLaren, and vice-versa, and I think we are all going to miss each other; but to be honest I think it's nice to go off to greener pastures and see whether you can develop something new in your life.”
Hamilton sits fourth in the Drivers’ Championship with one race to go, 16 points in arrears of Kimi Räikkönen and 23 ahead of Mark Webber.
