Sebastian Vettel remains confident in Brazil, having qualified ahead of Fernando Alonso and in the fourth position which would confirm him a three-time Champion on Sunday. Having made a mistake on his penultimate lap, Vettel also lost time on his final tour and as a result starts behind team-mate Mark Webber as well as the McLaren duo.
“Q3 wasn’t 100 percent perfect,” the German explained. “Q2 had been faster because (in Q3) I made that mistake at Turn 4. I was quick on the next lap, but not quick enough. Q1 was quite busy too because the circuit was getting quicker.”
When asked about Alonso qualifying eighth, Vettel replied:
“That’s not on my mind too much. I could have done better myself, so we need to go back through the data and see why I wasn’t quick enough. But generally we’re in good shape and we’ve been competitive all weekend. Let’s see what we can do tomorrow…”

- Finishing in the top four
- Finishing fifth, sixth or seventh if Alonso doesn’t win
- Finishing eighth or ninth if Alonso is third or lower
- Finishing tenth or non-scoring if Alonso is off the podium
