Alguersuari remains hopeful over F1 seat

28 November 2012

Jaime Alguersuari remains confident over his chances of securing a place on the 2013 Formula 1 grid, despite the fact that there are a wide range of candidates for the five seats still to be confirmed. The Spaniard, who was dropped by Toro Rosso at the end of 2011, says he is hoping to be racing for a 'good team' next season.

"I'm looking forward to hopefully going racing next year in a good team," Alguersuari explained in his BBC Sport column. "The situation is not that easy, as you know, but I think it can happen. I'm hoping to see some good news in the next couple of weeks."

During his two and a half season Toro Rosso spell, Alguersuari recorded ten points finishes, including personal best seventh place results in Italy and Korea last year. The 2008 British F3 Champion has been most heavily linked to a drive at Force India.
