New Sauber on schedule for opening test

10 December 2012

Sauber's upcoming C32 chassis is on schedule both in terms of performance and production ahead of the 2013 campaign, with the new design set to be ready for the opening pre-season test at Jerez. Ex-Team Principal Peter Sauber says he is 'very confident' about the outfit's new design and is hopeful of a strong start to the year.

"I'm very confident about the C32," Sauber said in a column for Switzerland's Sonntagsblick. "Because the technical rules hardly change, we can build on the C31. Currently, in terms of both the performance and the production, the C32 is on schedule.

"I am convinced that we will start testing at Jerez on February 5 and put a fast car on the track."

Sauber finished sixth in the Constructors' standings this year, claiming four podiums. In 2013, it will run an all-new driver line-up of Nico Hülkenberg and Esteban Gutiérrez.
