Charles Pic was left encouraged after making his first visit to Caterham's Leafield factory, explaining that the team has 'big potential' for the seasons ahead. Moving to the outfit from Marussia, he is hoping to break into the midfield in the near future.
"Both are very young teams," Pic told the official Formula 1 website of Marussia and Caterham. "For me the Caterham factory is great. We’re doing everything we can to make a good car so now we have to work and start to prepare for next year.
"I think Caterham has big potential - I’m 100 percent confident of that. We just have to work very hard to improve ourselves to be better next year and to take a step forward."
Reflecting upon his maiden campaign and looking ahead to his second Formula 1 term, Pic insists that it 'will not be easier' but simply a slightly different experience.
"I’m very happy about my first season in Formula 1 but I also know that my second season will not be easier because it’s never easier, it’s just different," the 22-year-old added of the campaign ahead. "My main target is to continue to improve."
Pic picked up his personal best result of 12th at the season finale in Brazil.
