Sébastien Buemi has extended his test and reserve driver role with Red Bull and Toro Rosso through to the end of the 2013 season, according to Swiss newspaper Blick.
Buemi raced for Toro Rosso from 2009 to 2011, but lost his seat along with Jaime Alguersuari when the outfit signed Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Éric Vergne for the 2012 campaign. Since then, the 24-year-old has been acting as a backup for both teams.
Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber will again make up Red Bull's line-up in 2013, while Toro Rosso has opted to extend the contracts of both Ricciardo and Vergne.
