10 January 2013

Oliver Turvey has signed a deal with Jota Sport to drive alongside Simon Dolan in the team's Zytek-Nissan LMP2 for the 2013 European Le Mans Series campaign. The 25-year-old Briton, a past race winner in the GP2 Series, will continue his role as McLaren's test and development driver throughout the upcoming Formula 1 season.

"I am thrilled and delighted to be joining Jota Sport for the 2013 season," said Turvey, who hopes the team can secure an entry for the prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours. "I am extremely excited to begin working with the team and can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the LMP2 car. I look forward to a successful season.

"I would also like to thank Vodafone McLaren Mercedes for their continued support and allowing me to pursue this alongside my test driver role."

Turvey joined the Woking-based McLaren outfit as a test driver in early 2012, a position he currently holds alongside former DTM Champion Gary Paffett. The Penrith-born driver will remain involved with the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 project.
