Force India's Paul di Resta has admitted that he is 'surprised' to be waiting on news of his future team-mate with pre-season testing less than one month away. The Scotsman, who has targeted podium finishes this year, is preparing to enter his third Formula 1 campaign with the Silverstone-based squad in 2013.
"I am surprised there has been nothing yet," di Resta was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. "The team have said they will announce it in good time as to where they are going to be, and I have to respect that."
Di Resta added that although not knowing the identity of his new team-mate at such a late stage affects his preparations for 2013, he is still 'very positive'.
"Ultimately it does," he explained. "But at the end of the day I know my job, and I am fully focused on what I need to achieve. I know who my team are, who my mechanics are. There are some new faces, which means we will be stronger again. I'm feeling quite good about it, very positive. I've been at the factory and the vibe is very high."
Adrian Sutil and Jules Bianchi are said to be the two remaining candidates for the seat, with Sébastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari missing out on the vacancy.
