Bianchi: The winter break has been difficult

15 January 2013

Jules Bianchi has admitted that it has been 'a little bit difficult' over the winter break, with the Frenchman still waiting on a decision from Force India as to whether or not he will be racing in Formula 1 this year. The 23-year-old, who finished runner-up in Formula Renault 3.5 last season, is remaining optimistic over his chances.

"I am waiting," Bianchi, who won Felipe Massa's charity karting event in Brazil last weekend, told RMC Sport. "It was a little bit difficult this winter because I do not know where I am going. We have a chance. We'll wait to see what Force India decides."

Adrian Sutil is Bianchi's leading rival for the vacant Force India seat. Paul di Resta, who is yet to be officially confirmed, will stay with the team for a third season in 2013.
