Pedro de la Rosa says his move to Ferrari ahead of the 2013 Formula 1 season is 'amazingly motivating', having signed an agreement with the famous Italian marque after being left on the sidelines when HRT closed its doors at the end of last year.
The 41-year-old, who has been involved in the sport since 1998, will undertake a development role throughout the upcoming campaign, completing work on the team's simulator in a bid to boost Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa's on-track chances.
"It is amazingly motivating to be working for a team like Ferrari, not just because of what it represents in the history of Formula 1 and motoring in general, but also because it will be a completely new and very stimulating experience for me," de la Rosa explained. "I really hope I can get to work as soon as possible and to help in the development of the car.
"I am happy to be collaborating with Fernando again and also to be working with Felipe. There is a lot to do and I am available to help the team from right now."
De la Rosa has made a total of 105 Grand Prix starts during his Formula 1 career to date, contesting races for the Arrows, Jaguar, McLaren, Sauber and HRT outfits.
