Ferrari 'trying to find solution' for Bianchi

16 January 2013

Ferrari says it is still working hard to secure Jules Bianchi a place on the 2013 Formula 1 grid, with the Driver Academy starlet currently waiting to hear from Force India as to whether or not he will be given a seat alongside Paul di Resta this season.

Bianchi is said to be up against Adrian Sutil for the vacany, but a possible Ferrari engine deal from 2014 onwards could help swing the decision in his favour. Team Principal Stefano Domenicali insists that although he cannot divulge any details at present, the famous Italian marque is doing its best to help the Frenchman.

"Jules is part of our Driver Academy, and we are trying to find a solution for him," said Domenicali. "Last year he was the third driver of Force India; we are trying to find a solution so he can grow and show his worth. But I have no further information."

Bianchi, 23 years old, finished runner-up to Robin Frijns in the 2012 Formula Renault 3.5 championship, having collided with the Dutchman during the season finale.
