Hamilton visits Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart
21 January 2013 – Lewis Hamilton visited the Mercedes-Benz headquarters in the German city of Stuttgart on Monday, marking his first public appearance for the famous brand.
Hamilton, who brought an end to his longstanding partnership with McLaren in 2012, was given a guided tour of the car maker's extensive facilities, before walking through the dedicated museum which houses Silver Arrows Formula 1 cars of the past.
In 2013, Hamilton will race alongside ex-karting team-mate Nico Rosberg, while structural changes have put former Williams Executive Director Toto Wolff and triple F1 World Champion Niki Lauda in charge of the Mercedes motorsport division.
Although the Mercedes brand operates from Stuttgart, the home of majority shareholder Daimler AG, its F1 team is based in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
