Alesi revealed as ambassador of Pirelli

Ex-Formula 1 driver Jean Alesi has been revealed as an ambassador of tyre manufacturer Pirelli ahead of the 2013 season. The Frenchman, a race winner in the sport, confirmed his new role at a press conference in Milan on Wednesday.

"I have had a great time with Pirelli in the past," said Alesi, who used the Italian company's tyres with Tyrrell in 1990. "It's great to be part of this family."

Alesi, who made 201 career starts in Formula 1, picked up a pair of second place finishes on the streets of Phoenix and Monaco whilst racing with Pirelli rubber.
