Ex-Formula 1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya claimed his third 24 Hours of Daytona victory on Sunday. The Columbian achieved the win alongside Chip Ganassi Racing team-mates Charlie Kimball, Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas in a shared Riley-BMW.
Although the quartet won by more than 20 seconds, Montoya had plenty to do during the final hour of the race. Having dropped to fourth after the final restart, he recovered well to pass AJ Allmendinger (Michael Shank Racing), the penalised João Barbosa (Action Express Racing) and Max Angelelli (VelocityWW) before the chequered flag.
Montoya's latest 24 Hours of Daytona triumph adds to his wins in 2007 and 2008.
