Marussia announces MR02 launch date

31 January 2013

Marussia has become the final team to announce the launch date of its 2013 challenger. The car will be revealed moments before the opening test begins at Jerez, on 5 February.

The MR02 is Marussia first car to be designed using wind tunnel technology, with the team scrapping its CFD approach used from its Formula 1 birth in 2010.

British rookie Max Chilton has been signed on to race for 2013 but, after Timo Glock’s mutual departure last week, the identity of his team-mate is yet to be revealed. Last year's GP2 runner-up, Luiz Razia, has been heavily linked to the second seat.

Key rivals Caterham are set to launch their 2013 challenger on the same day.
