Formula 1 launch Force India F1, 1 February 2013

Sahara Force India launched their 2013 challenger, the VJM06, at the Silverstone circuit on Friday morning. Along with the presentation, the team officially announced the expected news that Paul di Resta will be one of the drivers for the 2013 season.

Amid the cold and drizzle of the Silverstone pit lane, Di Resta and Deputy Team Principal Bob Fernley were on hand to pull the covers off the VJM06 live via the team's website. The car, which no longer features the stepped nose design trait, was then given its first tentative run on the Full Wet tyres around the short circuit layout.

"Seeing the car built and complete for the first time is a special feeling," said di Resta. "I’ve followed its progress in the tunnel and it looks very impressive - aggressive and fast. Now I’m just eager to get out there and see where we stand compared to our competitors. After the winter I feel refreshed and keen to get back to business."

Force India is yet to announce the identity of its second driver, but an announcement is expected to be made before the second pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya.
