Paul di Resta has been officially announced as one of Sahara Force India’s drivers for the 2013 season. The announcement, which was fully expected, came at the launch of the team's new VJM06 chassis at the Silverstone circuit on Friday morning.
Di Resta began his Formula 1 career with Force India in 2011, scoring 27 points in his first season and taking a personal best fourth place finish at last year’s Singapore Grand Prix. Although his sights had been set on securing a front-running drive for 2013, he is optimistic over the team’s chances of moving further up the grid.
Di Resta's team-mate will not be revealed before the opening test at Jerez, but it is expected that Force India will promote reserve driver Jules Bianchi to a race seat.
