Red Bull Racing presented its new RB9 chassis via its official YouTube page on Sunday afternoon. The reigning World Champions, based in Milton Keynes, will be attempting to secure a fourth successive Constructors' title in 2013, while Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber are set to enter a fifth season as team-mates.
Red Bull is only the second team to shy away from the use of a 'vanity panel' in 2013, with chief designer Adrian Newey clearly anticipating the extra weight of the fairing to be more problematic than the deficiencies caused by the stepped nose design trait.
While the car is largely an evolution of its RB8 predecessor, which won seven races in the hands of Vettel and Webber, many areas have been compacted in a bid to extract as much performance as possible from the final year in the sport's latest ruleset.
Aside from the design of the car, Red Bull has also tweaked its colour scheme. The outfit has introduced a splash of purple to its predominantly dark blue livery, reflecting its increased title sponsorship with Infiniti. The Japanese car manufacturer's logo now dominates the rear wing mainplane and sidepods of the RB9 chassis.
Webber will begin Red Bull's testing programme at Jerez next week, completing the first two days (5 and 6 February) before handing over to Vettel (7 and 8 February).
