Ascanelli joins Brembo as technical chief
Giorgio Ascanelli will join Formula 1 brake supplier Brembo as its Chief Technical Officer in February, marking his motorsport return after leaving Toro Rosso last year.
Ascanelli started his automotive career with Ferrari back in 1985, before moving to Abarth, Benetton F1 and McLaren F1. In 2002, the Italian stepped up to the role of Technical Director of Maserati Corse, overseeing the development of the MC12.
In 2007, Ascanelli returned to F1 by becoming Toro Rosso's technical chief. He held this post until the midway point of 2012, when he was replaced by James Key.
