'2013 calendar to remain at 19 races'
5 February 2013 – The 2013 Formula 1 calendar will remain at 19 races, with Bernie Ecclestone stating that it is ‘too late’ to organise a replacement for the postponed New Jersey event.
Despite Turkey, France and Portugal expressing an interest in the 21 July slot that governing body the FIA added at the end of last year, a deal has not come to fruition.
"The calendar has been formed already, it's too late," Ecclestone told The National. "(I’m) disappointed that it didn't happen before; we can't suddenly slot it in."
This year's German Grand Prix, which also went through a phase of uncertainty amid severe financial issues, was finally confirmed at the Nürburgring last week.
