Gutiérrez 'immediately comfortable' in C32
7 February 2013 – Sauber driver Esteban Gutiérrez enjoyed a trouble-free start to his pre-season testing programme at Jerez on Thursday, having taken over the cockpit of the C32 from team-mate Nico Hülkenberg. Focusning on high fuel running and tyre evaluations, the Mexican rookie wound up eighth fastest with a total of 110 laps to his name.
"It was very interesting to feel the progress - something that gets me up to speed. I'm positive about the new car and I immediately felt comfortable in it."
Gutiérrez, who makes the step up to Formula 1 after finishing third in the support-bill GP2 Series last year, will complete the final day of running for Sauber at Jerez.
