Williams driver Valtteri Bottas was pleased with his return to the cockpit of a Formula 1 car at Jerez this week, the Finn back in action for the first time since the opening free practice session for last year's Brazilian Grand Prix. Racking up 178 trouble-free laps in the team's 2012 car, the 23-year-old is now eager to drive his new FW35 contender.
"It’s been a good four days of testing for us and I’ve really enjoyed the last two when I’ve been driving the car," said Bottas. "We have achieved everything we planned this week without any issues, and I’ve really liked how the new technical team have been working.
"We collected some valuable data regarding some parts for the new car and now I’m excited to go to Barcelona to drive the FW35 for the first time."
Williams will launch its new car at the Circuit de Catalunya on the morning of Tuesday 19 February, moments before the second pre-season test gathering gets underway.
