Webber hails Red Bull test performance
22 February 2013 – Mark Webber paid tribute to Red Bull for its efforts throughout the second pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya this week, with the Australian describing an 'incredible' performance from his team of mechanics to complete the planned programme.
Webber, who finished eighth quickest at the end of a rain-hit second day in the RB9 chassis, racked up 64 laps in mixed conditions to bring his Barcelona total up to 172.
"It was cold out there today, I can’t remember having a full test day this cold," Webber explained. "But actually it was reasonably consistent; the conditions were pretty stable all day, although not very representative of a Grand Prix weekend.
"So, unusual conditions but I was happy with what we got done today. The mechanics were incredible in getting through everything. We got a lot of good stuff done today. The boys did a great job – the best I’ve seen them, I think, so all credit to them."
Webber and team-mate Sebastian Vettel completed a combined total of 322 laps at the Circuit de Catalunya this week, putting the team just shy of five race distances.
