Razia's sponsors fail to put forward funds

25 February 2013

The reason for Luiz Razia’s on-track absence at the Circuit de Catalunya last week has come to the fore, with the Marussia driver admitting that funding from at least one of his sponsors was not submitted to the Banbury-based outfit ahead of the gathering.

Although the Brazilian, who steps up from GP2 after finishing runner-up in 2012, believes the issue will be promptly resolved, it is expected to leave him with just two more test days before the first race in Australia.

"In the contract, there are certain parties with responsibilities," Razia told Brazil's Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. "We trust them, but there have been some conflicts. We will solve it. We only need a few days."

Razia's team-mate, Max Chilton, drove on all four days at the Circuit de Catalunya, with the final pre-season test taking place at the same venue from 28 February to 3 March.
